Description:
Three black-and-white negatives show a woman's hands on braille pages: 1) Close-up of hands, with fingers close-together and just slightly bent; polka-dot patterned bodice, with four large round buttons, and long sleeves visible (.135). 2) Same as above, but hands are more at angle and closer to edge of page (.136). 3) Table in foreground; a February 1935 issue of the Reader's Digest, Braille Edition (center) and two other magazine issues, all closed; woman sits at opposite side of table, hands are on the pages of an open magazine; bodice is visible to shoulders (pattern of material not evident); may be the same individual whose hands are in the negatives above (.137).

History/Provenance:
In 1935, the American Printing House for the Blind was producing fifteen braille magazines. APH had professional photos taken for the company, many for use in illustrated product sheets/brochures. Negatives were transferred from APH Advisory Services to the Museum in 2000.
