- The Third Reader Level is the fifth sequential level in a series of beginning library books for braille readers. Eleanor Pester, project director, and Eddy Jo Bradley, editorial director. Kit includes 22 books, all published with permission of the authors or original publishers. Each book is embossed in interpoint braille; length varies, with most text-only pages having twenty-five lines per page. Raised-line tactile graphics are in some of the books. Includes a "Notes for Teachers" guide, in standard print, containing summaries of the books, and vocabulary lists and suggested activities. Books and guide have copyright 1985 on verso of title page. - The Third Reader Level of the Patterns Library Series was released as a new product of the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) in May 1985 and was discontinued in 2012. The Patterns Library Series was designed to supplement Patterns: The Primary Braille Reading Program, with books that corresponded in level content, color, and size to those in the reading program. Kit was transferred in 2019 to the Museum of the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) from the APH Research Department, where it had been stored with project materials of Eleanor Pester.
