- The frame and beads of the abacus are made of wood. There is decorative gold metal trim on the corners and the sides of the frame. The beads have a diameter of approximately 5/8 in. There are 11 columns of beads; 2 above the wooden bar and 5 below. A metal label attached to the frame has Chinese characters and has the following printed in English "Diamond" and "Made In China."
