Ages: Ages 10+
Length: One hour
Maybe you know all about Helen Keller and Louis Braille, but other people who were blind deserve recognition as well. What about Jacques Lusseyran, who worked with the Resistance in France during World War II? Or the physicist Ken Culler, who managed the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) project for NASA. Or the adventurer Eric Weihenmayer, who climbed the highest mountain on each of the seven continents (yes, including Everest)? The workshop will make participants reconsider their perception of blindness as a hindrance to leading full and rewarding lives.
