Description: "Made in France" is ink-stamped on the bottom of the board and box. A typewritten paper label on the bottom of the box reads "American Foundation for the Blind"; another on the bottom of the board reads "chess board." Set consists of a game board, game pieces, and storage box as described in the following notes. 2004.136a - Wooden chessboard with raised squares of a lighter color. All squares have a single hole in the center to accomodate game pieces. 2004.136b - Game pieces with metal pins in the bottom to fit holes in board. 17 are natural wood color; one of these, a knight, is missing its pin. 16 pieces are painted black. 2004.136c - Wooden box of tongue-and-groove construction with sliding removable lid to hold game pieces.
