History/Provenance: The Long Cane, originally a 16 mm documentary film, was produced in 1953 by the Veterans Administration to familiarize VA personnel with rehabilitation services available for blinded veterans at the V.A. Hospital in Hines, Illinois. Video was donated to the AER Archives by Pete Wurzburger in 1988.
