Administrative History: The state of Utah established the Utah School for the Blind in 1896 on the same Ogden campus as the Utah School for the Deaf, which had been established twelve years earlier. Administered by the same board of trustees and superintendent, the Utah School for the Blind moved to a separate campus in 1969. The schools would become, officially, the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, with administrative campuses in Ogden, Salt Lake City, and Orem.
