Description: Two printing proofs for the April-June 1964 cover of Mensajero de luz, a cultural magazine for blind readers in Columbia, South America that was produced in Spanish braille at the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) under contract with the magazine's director, Samuel D. Lander. One proof has penciled-in corrections and an attached typewritten memo from Hazel Maffet, APH Magazine Subscription and Fundraising Department Manager, to APH Braille Editor Marjorie Hooper. The other proof is printed per corrections. Embossed on brown paper; front page of each features the masthead in ink-print at the top of the cover and, beneath that, the same text in Spanish braille. Also, a braille issue of the magazine, with mark outs in pen on masthead and crossed-out print date of 1959, that may have been sent from Landers to APH as a sample for set up; gray paper cover; white braille paper. .4 - proof (handwritten corrections) .5 - proof (printed with corrections) .6 - sample issue
