Summary/Description: Children's braille reader containing several stories of a few sentences each. Produced from a manuscript. "By Marie Lien, Instructor, Minnesota School for the Blind, Faribault, Minnesota" --t.p. Grade 1 braille; single-sided embossing; double-spaced lines. Brown clothbound boards with reddish brown cloth and black lettering on spine. Title page and pages 1-13 have pencil writing beneath the braille dots; "Done on June 14, 1949" is handwritten at top of pages 1-6; "Done on June 14 -15, 1949" is handwritten at top of page 7"; "Done on June 15, 1949" is handwritten at top of pages 8-11. A 3 x 5 index card with handwritten note in pencil is inserted and reads: "Dear Gilbert, This is just a short note for you to see if I Am Doing all Right in my Brale [sic]. Love Phyllis Joan Dahms, June 15, 1949." "1937" is handwritten on front cover in pencil; on verso of front free endpaper, the inscription: "from Gilbert Le Roy Johnson."

History/Provenance: Book belonged to the donor, Gil Johnson, who noted that the author was his braille teacher and that the book was used for teaching blind children to read braille.
