History/Provenance: This volume of the recorded World Book Year Book belonged to George Shearing, jazz pianist, composer and bandleader. Shearing, blind from birth, was born on August 13, 1919. The tapes were played on an indexing cassette player also donated to the museum by Mr. Shearing, see accession 2001.150.1.
