Summary/Description: This issue of the newspaper contains an article on the front page, columns 5-6, headlined "A Newark Philanthropy: Employment for the Blind," about the United Blind Men's Tea Company. The company was established in 1869 under the direction of Lynden S. Lyon, a blind man, "For the object of introducing Blind Persons into the Tea trade." Coffee and spices were also sold.
