History/Provenance: Author Roy Kumpe established Arkansas Enterprises for the Blind in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1947 to provide vocational and daily living rehabilitation services to blind and visually impaired persons. He served as the executive director until his retirement in 1978. Book was donated by Patricia Smith, a professor in the Dept. of Counseling, Adult & Rehabilitation Education (CARE), at University of Arkansas, Little Rock.
