Scope & Content: Theodore (Ted) Herps talks about working in the Machine Shop at the American Printing House for the Blind from 1952 until his retirement in 1993. Machine Shop employees maintained plant machinery and made braille slates. Herps also talks about working on parts for the Lavender Braillewriter, and describes the use of a Banbury mixer in the production of talking books.
