Description: Large model of a braille cell for beginning braille students; features two rectangular blocks of wood with three holes aligned vertically in each block to represent dot positions in a braille cell; six black, plastic removable pegs fit into the holes to represent raised braille dots; two nickel-plated steel fasteners secure the blocks to a base and allow the blocks to be positioned vertically, side by side, to represent a whole cell, or to be swung out into a horizontal position, until they rest against a half-inch rim at the top left and top right of the resin-molded base, to show the correlation between the six dots and the layout of braillewriter keys; metal nub, located on the bottom of each block, fits into same-size indentations in the base at the vertical and horizontal positions; black plastic feet fastened at each corner on the reverse of the base; painted red; printed APH label on reverse; APH catalog no. 6-78040-00.
