Scope & Content: Signed proclamation issued to "The American Printing House for the Blind, Inc. for the 150th anniversary . . . and for their invaluable service to the blind and visually impaired of the Commonwealth." Printed on one side of a single sheet of white paper, with an embossed gold-foil and blue-ribboned Seal of the Commonwealth of Kentucky affixed at bottom left; mounted on a foamcore backing beneath a dark blue framing mat.

Administrative History: On November 17, 2008, Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear visited the American Printing House for the Blind (APH), in Louisville, Kentucky, and presented a proclamation signed by him four days earlier to honor the 150th anniversary of the company that was founded in Louisville on January 23, 1858. The event took place at APH, in the company's museum.
