Description: (a) body formed from stamped steel parts coated with a crackled black enamel; base of diebox is cast aluminum; nickel plated steel carriage, wood main paper roller with steel paper clamp, black rubber over steel core secondary roller, both turned by large diameter knurled steel knobs on the sides of the carriage; single paper guide adjusts in 21 pre-set holes on left side of rear bar on carriage; margin release lever emerges from left side of the main arched diebox piece, back space lever is in cutout in lower right front of the same piece; seven nickel-plated steel keys on front, slightly splayed, with wide trapezoidal space key emerging in middle, red rubber pads on bottoms of keys; tension spring on bar under left of carriage, line end bell on matching bar under right of carriage; label pasted to writer base under spacebar, "Fabrikat SORST Hannover Vertreib Verein zur Forderung der Blindenbildung Hannover"; (b) two piece stamped steel case, angled lid to wrap around shape of writer; padded feet on base; writer clamped into bottom of case with four (4) red rubber padded clamps; wire carrying handle on sloped front of case; spring button under handle releases case lid from base. Serial number stamped on writer base, base of case, and lid of case, "353".
