Description: Photographic reproduction on simulated parchment of "Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 471,653, dated March 29, 1892." Includes one drawing of an improved slate for writing in raised letters and numbers. Invention consists of a case with rows and columns of open squares on the top, and a sliding drawer that fits into the bottom of the case and also has open squares. Blocks of raised type are stored in the drawer and removed for placement in the open squares on top of the case. Dimensions are not provided. Museum has 2 copies.
