History/Provenance: Carl Lappin worked at the American Printing House for the Blind from1963 until his death in 1986. Under his direction, the Printing House started the Central Catalog of Textbooks for the Visually Impaired, a list of accessible textbooks available from sources throughout the United States. His job title at the time of his death was Textbook Consultant and Director of the Central Catalog of Volunteer Produced Textbooks.
