Description: Five (5) BW prints from unidentified Japanese school; .1452: Wide line of children in shorts and summer dresses, some wearing napsacks and caps, standing in front of a two story building with a tile roof; the group is led by a young man in jeans, sandals, patchpocket demin shirt and dark military style cap carrying a small furled flag; the group stares at the camera into a bright sunshine; .1453: Boys and young men work in the turned earth of a garden plot in back of the building from .1452; they carry various implements including a rake, long handled hoes, and a wooden implement with a t-handle; .1454: Children wading in a irrigation canal and walking on a path beside it, beside a large field of grass (perhaps rice); on a hill behind the field in the background is the school building from .1452; .1455: Four young children play on a wooden playground slide on a grassy lawn in front of a fenced field full of a tall, closely planted crop; .1456: Young men under and near a roofed porch do woodwork; one boy planes a board set at an angle on the porch; a second wearig a floppy hat sits on a pile of trimed bamboo; another stands on a board while ripping it with a Japanese style handsaw; two others measure and tack together wooden boards.
