Roy Avers

Description: Roy Avers was a computer consultant and businessman who studied theater arts in college and sang with the Louisville Opera. He started doing volunteer work as a textbook narrator, but was directed to APH because his voice was too emotive. Roy read his first book for APH in 1971. He became APH’s first Alexander Scourby Award winner in 1990 and has read over 1,750 titles for the National Library Service.
