Description: Stainless steel composing stick; body is a two-sided shallow tray, the "head" or short side is heavier and scaled in "nonpareils" or 1/2 picas; the "stile" or the long side is lighter, unmarked, and pierced with round holes for the sliding "knee"; the knee is a right-angled sliding bar that locks into the stile with two posts and a rotating thumb-bar, the bar of the knee is scaled in "agate," a type size; the open side of the stick is scaled in pica on the bottom; serial number stamped on the tray and the knee "26658"; stamped on tray, "ROUSE/NONPAREIL/JOB STICK/PATENT 1400650/STAINLESS STEEL/MADE BY/H.B. ROUSE & CO./CHICAGO"; marked by user, "LPF".
