Description: Richard “Dickie” Braun got his first radio job in West Virginia in 1952 at radio station WRON after majoring in accounting at the University of Pittsburgh. Four years later he joined WWNR in Beckley, West Virginia. He also worked for WKLO, WLRS and WAVE in Louisville and other stations in New Orleans, Buffalo, and Cincinnati. He is best known in Louisville for his ten-year stint as Wretched Richard on WINN in the 1970s. Dick passed away in 2006 at the age of 77. He read almost 190 titles at APH between 1960 and 1983 and was one of the primary narrators of the World Book Encyclopedia project recorded in 1979-80.
