Scope & Content: Holdings: printed fundraising leaflets, 1951-1957; annual reports, 1967/1968, 1971/1972-1974, 1979-1982. Earliest annual report is a typewritten duplicate; others are printed. Reports after 1971/1972 are in the agency's newsletter "Introspection" (through 1974) and "News," (1979-1982). Financial data and black-and-white photo illustrations are in most of the leaflets and reports.

Administrative History: The Rhode Island Association for the Blind was established in Providence in 1923 as a non-profit agency to provide rehabilitation and social services and workshop employment to blind and visually impaired persons of Rhode Island. It was incorporated in 1923.
