Scope & Content: Item is a reproduction of an 1883 pictorial map of Louisville, probably printed from an image of the original map available through the Library of Congress. It is printed on glossy white paper and shows colorful illustrations of the city and its industries. The names of the original publisher and creator are printed as follows: "Copyrighted by M. P. Levyeau & Co. Cin'ti. Ohio & Lou. Ky," bottom left margin, and "W. F. Clarke," within margin of map at bottom right. "Geography and Map Division, Library of Congress" (the repository of the original map) is printed at bottom right corner. The caption is centered in the bottom margin and reads: "Birds-eye view of Louisville from the River Front And Southern Exposition, 1883. Dedicated By The Publishers to the 'Louisville Board of Trade' and Manufacturing Industries." Reverse is blank.
