"Pictures for the Blind" is printed at the top in German, French, English, and Italian as follows: Abbildungen fur Blinde. Images a l'usage des aveugles. Pictures for the Blind. Immagini ad uso dei ciechi. Below this is printed "von Direktor M. Kunz, Illzach." Creator's name and location are embossed in German braille, at bottom. Common names of fish are provided in braille in German and French, and species in Latin. Background and bottom fish are hand-painted. Front of picture is varnished; backsides of images are filled with gesso.
