Description: Relief picture of three fish (sardine, herring, and sheatfish) produced by Martin Kunz for instruction of blind students; may be a part of his Naturkunde [Natural History] series. "Pictures for the Blind" is printed at the top in German, French, English, and Italian as follows: Abbildungen fur Blinde. Images a l'usage des aveugles. Pictures for the Blind. Immagini ad uso dei ciechi. Below this is printed "von Direktor M. Kunz, Illzach." Creator's name and location are embossed in German braille, at bottom. Each fish is hand-painted and identified by braille labeling in German and French (common names) and Latin (species). Entire picture is varnished on front and back; backsides of images are filled with gesso.
