Description: Relief picture produced by Martin Kunz for instruction of blind students; may be a part of his Naturkunde [Natural History] series. Kunz' name and location are embossed in German braille, at bottom. Picture shows four salamanders in relief: the maculata (spotted) salamander (upper left), the cave salamander (upper right), the greater siren salamander (center), and the triton salamander (lower right). Some raised horizontal lines are in the background. Braille labeling identifies the species in Latin and the common names in German and French. Backside of each salamander is coated with gesso.
