Scope & Content: Title of map and creator's name provided in German braille, at top; creator's name and "Illzach" in raised letters, at bottom; no labeling on mapped area; large body of water indicated by slightly raised horizontal lines; landmass is higher with mountain ranges prominent; principal boundaries indicated by dotted lines; rivers represented by raised lines; principal cities are indicated by raised dots and the captial city by a raised circle with short projecting lines; latitude and longitude indicated by short raised lines with braille numbers at margins of mapped area. Martin Kunz was director of the Blind Institute at Illzach, Germany and the leading producer of maps in Europe during the 1890s.
