Scope & Content: Title and creator's name provided in print and raised letters in German, upper left corner, and in braille, top center and left corner; mapped area has print labeling; large bodies of water have slightly raised horizontal lines; landmass is slightly higher with mountainous areas prominent; rivers are indicated by raised lines and boundaries by raised dotted lines; major cities are indicated by raised dots and print labeling; latitude and longitude are marked by short raised lines with print ant braille numbers around perimiter of map; scale of miles appears in print and braille. Martin Kunz was director of the Blind Institute at Illzach, Germany and the leading producer of maps in Europe during the 1890s.
