Scope & Content: Title in German braille at top; creator's name and location in raised letters at bottom; no labeling on mapped area which measures 8 3/4 x 10 5/8 with a border of two raised parallel lines around the entire area; latitude and longitude are indicated by short raised lines and braille numbers within the border; large bodies of water have slightly raised horizontal lines; landmasses are slightly higher with some elevation of mountainous areas; rivers are indicated by depressed lines; principal towns are identified by raised dots. Martin Kunz was director of the Blind Institute at Illzach, Germany and the leading producer of maps in Europe during the 1890s.
