Administrative History: Recreation for the Blind, Inc., a non-profit organization, was founded in 1947 by Rose Resnick, who was blind, and Nina Brandt to provide recreational and social activities for blind and visually impaired persons in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Under the organization's auspices, a recreational camp for blind children and adults, called Enchanted Hills, was opened in 1950. Recreation for the Blind merged in 1958 with the San Francisco Association and Center for the Blind, creating the San Francisco Lighthouse for the Blind (today known as the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired),
