Description: Set of 15 printing plates and 10 date "slugs" used to print white-ink labels on flexible talking book records. Some slugs dated 1983 or 1984. Includes plates used for Newsweek, Reader's Digest, Sports Illustrated, Choice Magazine Listening, Guideposts, The Braille Forum, Music Journal, John Milton Talking Book, and The Ensign. Each printing plate consists of a metal title plate, made at either C & R Graphics or Bush-Krebs, attached to a base aluminum plate made at APH. Removable date slugs, made of either aluminum zinc alloy or brass, fit into slots cut into the permanent title plates. The plates with slugs were fitted into a printer on a guide support table that was part of the flexible disc pressing machine. Each title plate was used for the life of the contract unless damage required replacement.
