The record is on a phonograph that appears in the background at center. To the right sits a German shepherd. The lighting of the photo focuses on the player and talking books/container. Photo is mounted to a cardboard sheet used for a layout for creating publicity/promotional material. Typewritten paper label on reverse: "Reader, with dog, listens to Talking Books." Handwritten notes appear in pencil on reverse of cardboard and measurements on front; ink-stamped on reverse: "Louis J. Frederick advertising design, 1st West Main Street, Louisville, Kentucky."
