Scope & Content: Proclamation reads: "Louisville Office of the Mayor, Proclamation, Greetings to whom all these presents shall come, know ye that January 23, 2008 is herby proclaimed in Louisville, Kentucky to be American Printing House for the Blind 150th Anniversary Celebration Day, and I urge all citizens to observe this special recognition. Jerry E. Abramson, Mayor," with mayor's handwritten signature. On one side of a single sheet of ivory parchment paper with tinted edges; a background image of Louisville Metro Hall, at center; at bottom left, an embossed gold-foil and blue-ribboned seal of the Louisville Metro Government (fleur-de-leis and two stars encircled by the words "Louisville Jefferson County, Metro").

Administrative History: Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson visited the American Printing House for the Blind (APH), Louisville, Kentucky, on January 16, 2008, and presented a proclamation to APH President Tuck Tinsley and APH Board of Trustees President Jim Lintner in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the company, which was founded on January 23, 1858. The company's employees attended the presentation, which took place in the factory-area of the APH building.
