Description: Photogravure print shows an elderly blind man and a young boy sitting on a log beside a wooden fence post. The man is holding out his right hand and wears a sign that reads "ayez pitie d u pauvre avuegle." A beggar's bowl rests on his lap and his left hand clutches a cane beneath his arm; after a painting by Rixens, whose signature appears in the print at bottom right. "Rixens" also appears within the plate mark at top. "The Blind Man of St. Avantin" appears within the plate mark at bottom center and, at bottom right, is "Salon de 1892."
