History/Provenance: These proof sheets and print were made ca. 1994 for the Museum of the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) from the original negatives that date circa 1935, which were used to produce photo illustrations for the APH 1935-1936 Annual Report, the first of the company's annual reports to feature "a number of photo illustrations," as well as for other APH promotional materials. The annual report includes captions. The negatives were found at APH in an envelope from Gatchel & Sons, a Louisville photographic processing and supply company. When the museum acquired them, some negatives were not usable and were tossed due to deterioration.
