Scope & Content: Front of postcard shows a black & white group photo of students and their teachers in front of an exterior wall at a Chinese school for blind girls. Two German teachers are identified in the caption as Johanne Reinecke and Agathe von Seelhorst. The German caption in the single margin at bottom reads: "Blind Chinesenmadchen der Blindenschule Tsaukwong mit den deutschen Schwestern Frl. Johanne Reinecke und Frl. Agathe von Seelhorst, rechts von ihnen die drei chinesischen Lehrerinnen." Back of postcard is divided, used, and has a 1911 Hong Kong postmark. Miss Reinecke established the Blindenheim School for blind girls in Kowloon, near Hong Kong, in 1901. --Fryer, page 9. Postcard has yellowed; small stain on back upper right.
