Scope & Content: Postcard shows the front entrance and one side of the school building, surrounded by evergreen trees, a green lawn, and colorful flowers. The front entrance is columned and has a covered balcony above it. Printed at the top center of the card is "Georgia Academy For The Blind, Macon, Ga.--30." The back of the card is divided and has been used; it bears a postmark of January 21, 1944. Printed text divides the middle of the card and reads "Pub. By Service News Co., Macon, Ga. Natural Color Post Card Made in U.S.A. By E. C. Kropp Co., Milwaukee, Wis. (Ga.)." Printed in the upper, left corner is "Official training school with dormitory facilities for blind students (white) of Georgia. It is a State Institution, supported by tax funds, and is located on Forsyth Road, Macon." "This is a linen postcard . . . mailed by a soldier. There is corner and edge wear." --vendor's description.
