Description: Black-and-white, head-and-shoulders photograph shows Susan Merwin, whose hair is worn up and is wearing a long-sleeved top/dress of lightweight fabric with pleats and a bow at the cuffs, a necklace, and a ring on the ring finger of her left hand, holding a printed book (a speller). On reverse, in pencil: "57761." Photograph was removed from a wood frame of textured gilt finish with chain on reverse for hanging. Engraved metal label attached to front of frame, at bottom center reads "Susan Merwin, Superintendent, 1919-1923."
