Description: 3/4" plywood backing, framed on reverse with 1x4" pine; surface painted blue; outline map of South America cut from plywood and set into recess in main backing; relief mountains carved from mahogany and glued/pinned to map; rivers routed into surface; political boundaries/puzzle cuts marked on surface in ink; Central American isthmus in upper left is painted yellow, as well as the Galapagos, Falklands, and South Sandwich Islands and islands off the coast of Venezuela including Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, and the Barbados.
