Administrative History: The Pinellas Center for the Visually Impaired evolved from the merger of Channel Markers for the Blind and the Community Center for the Blind in fiscal year 1983-1984 to provide rehabilitation, education, recreation and counseling services for blind and visually impaired adults residing in Pinellas County, Florida. Today, the private non-profit agency is known as Lighthouse of Pinellas and offers services and programs for blind and visually impaired children, as well.
