Administrative History: On July 23, 1962, the Pennsylvania Working Home for the Blind merged with the Philadelphia Association for the Blind. The organization became officially known as the Pennsylvania Working Home for the Blind and Philadelphia Association for the Blind, continuing the mission of providing rehabilitation, vocational and social services to blind individuals. The Pennsylvania Working Home for the Blind began in 1874 (see linked record of pre-merger reports held by the museum, AnnRep3.173).
