Summary/Description: Technical manual containing materials lists, parts and assembly drawings, and maintenance information and drawings for the PEARL (Plate Embossing Apparatus for Raised Lines), a machine used at the American Printing House for the Blind to emboss metal printing plates with raised-line tactile graphics. Hole-punched hard cover (front cover of light blue board; back cover of plain board); originally comb-bound with black plastic, which has been removed.

History/Provenance: Gary Davis designed the PEARL machine in the mid-1980s for the American Printing House for the Blind while working at the company as a mechanical designer. The manual was transferred in 2013 to the Museum from the company's Barr Library.
