Description: One page of botanical illustrations produced in relief by Martin Kunz as part of his Naturkunde [Natural History] series of pictures for instruction of blind students. "Pictures for the Blind" is printed on the page in German, French, English, and Italian as follows: Abbildungen fur Blinde. Images a l'usage des aveugles. Pictures for the Blind. Immagini ad uso dei ciechi. Below this is printed "Von Direktor M. Kunz, Illzach." Illustrations may represent some sort of cell division process; includes braille notations that may refer to accession 1998.90.116. Some of the illustrations are worn. See also, 1998.80.117-120, 122-124 for additional Naturkunde accessions. Martin Kunz was director of the Blind Institute at Illzach, Germany and a leading producer of relief pictures and maps in the 1890s. .
