Description: Folding wooden traveling chess board with red tin box for pieces; two piece board hinged with two brass hinges; plated brass reinforced corners and short sides; eight x eight gridded board, light squares raised, dark squares recessed; hole drilled in center of each square; hand carved ivory pieces, dark set painted dark brown; one dark knight carved from wood, possibly a replacement; one extra white rook with steel peg in box; in red enameled two piece oval tin box; paper label with provenance glued to bottom of board.
