Description: Bronze-colored medal has an engraving of an angel holding a lighted torch and the inscription "The American Foundation for the Blind" on the front. The reverse is inscribed "For outstanding service to the blind," with "Carson Y. Nolan" engraved beneath. An embossed half-wreath of leaves is at bottom. The medal is in a black-leather hinged case with gilt trim and metal clasp. The case is lined with blue satin and velvet.
