Administrative History: Memorial Homes for the Blind was founded in 1905 in Worcester, Massachusetts to provide a home for elderly, homeless blind persons. Originally called Memorial Home for the Blind, the charitable organization first established a cottage home for women (The Jennie A. Partridge House) was later a similar home (Whitcomb Hall) for men.
