Administrative History: The Massachusetts Commission for the Blind provides social services, vocational rehabilitation, and orientation and mobility instruction to blind and visually impaired persons. It was established as a state agency in 1906, incorporated into the State Department of Education and renamed the Division of the Blind in 1919, and reestablished as a separate commission under its original name in 1966.
