Administrative History: The Maryland Workshop for the Blind was created by the Maryland General Assembly in 1908 to provide vocational training, employment, and special services to the state's adult blind residents. The last annual report of the Maryland Workshop was issued in 1973, the year that the agency was succeeded by Blind Industries and Services for the Blind.
