Description: (a) handheld, battery-operated device that signals the presence, intensity and contrast of light through audible tones; device has a black and white plastic exterior; an "artificial eye" sensor at the front end; and a removable red tip that inserts into the front end for detection of narrow light sources; on left side is "APH" label, black with letters outlined in white ink; a speaker opening; and a row of three red push buttons that will cause various types of tones (high, low, continuous, and clicking) to emit when the front end of the device is pointed at an area or against a surface; battery compartment for two 1.5-volt AAAs is located in the back half of the device and is accessed on the left side by a slide-off cover; (bc) paper and braille instruction sheets; (d) black plastic audio cassette instructions.
